Web Browser Surfer 3rd Edition (Web Surfer Series) Reviews
Web Browser Surfer 3rd Edition (Web Surfer Series)
This is the Web Browser Surfer 3rd Edition. It replaces the Web Browser on Kindle 2nd Edition; it has been renamed because it turns your Kindle into a web surfer. This 3rd Edition was created on 9/7/2011, and it is dramatically superior to the 2nd edition. Where the second edition was around 2000 words, the 3rd edition is over 13,000 words. Many expedient sites have been added and a few inadequate sites have been removed. Each site now contains a narrative describing the site. Most of the websit

Greatly improved over the 2nd edition!,
As I wrote for the 2nd edition of this browser, I have reviewed all the web browsers available for Kindle and other mobile devices that use a Kindle app and this is by far the best, most comprehensive list of web sites! Just one click takes one to the web sites, often optimized for mobile devices, whenever provided. Many of these web sites listings are annotated so that you know what you will be viewing prior to selection. It offers an extremely large number of web sites grouped under the categories of Search Engines and Links, News and Popular Magazines, Financial Sites, Email, Social Networks/Portals, Study and Reference, Helpful Resources, and Shopping, with an Alphabetical Index of all the sites at the end. This is one app that you’ll be using constantly.
This version is a major update and expansion of the 2nd edition of this browser and has been renamed Web Browser Surfer 3rd Edition (Web Surfer Series). It is still only $0.99. You can download a free sample to your Kindle or computer, which will give you many of the search engines and will illustrate how well each website is annotated. This 3rd edition is the tool to buy. One hint, if you purchase or had purchased the 2nd edition after September 7th you have received all the updates that were made to the 3rd edition. Except for the cover, they are identical.
A previous reviewer greatly praised this tool but because one web site wouldn’t allow the access by the Kindle that he desired he downgraded his review to two stars, which seems very unfair as it had nothing to do with this browser.

|Excellent Value & Tremendously Useful,
Definitely worth the $0.99 asking price. This app adds to the Kindle’s functionality as a kind-of bare-bones tablet PC. It’s reasonably user-friendly. Navigation seems a bit awkward in spots, but I expect that will improve in in future editions.
I LOVE how well it works with gmail! I’m a college instructor & found that I can even use this to access the websites for the classes that I teach and read the assignments that my students post online. This app is a gem & the price certainly can’t be beat!

|Works like a champ! Edited Review,
Gmail, great.
Hotmail, great.
Yahoo mail (the reason I bought this app) error, error, error.
UPDATED:
I uninstalled, then re-installed this application and Voila! Now Yahoo Mail
works great!!. Thanks to Mr. Klein who contacted me to make sure that the problem was resolved.
For 99 cents this is a nifty little app that does many wonderful things considering the limitations of the Kindle hardware.
This browser is really slick and well thought out. Many categories, neatly indexed makes this app a real workhorse. Take my word for it, it’s the best 99 cents wou’ll ever spend on your Kindle.
Now I can discreetly check my Yahoo e-mail at my convenience where ever I am.
